Is that.. bad luck knocking at my door?

Okay, so much for "give it all" here, today, in Lorient World Championship. JUST 10 Km into the bike course and bad luck knocked at my door. I was out of contention with a broken seat due to HUGE pumps on the road.

The "hard" thing about it was that I was feeling very good, legs were very - VERY - strong and I believe I would eventually caught up with the group following in front of me in just a bit. They were in sight and I was strong, really strong. I still tried to hold on and not be out of the race SO early and with such a full tank but after 25 Km the race was indeed over for me. It was then that Vabrousek's pack flew by me and I just couldn't pedal in that position for much longer.

I will head home tomorrow and check back here for more details on what's next. Racing for sure as I need to get this out of the system.

BTW, I did have a great start of the swim (pontoun one) but would fade a bit on the end, loosing brasilian Collucci's feet and the pack before the first swim exit-jump. This 3Km's swims are killer ones. I start all out but just can't hold on to the pace. Have to work on that now that my sprinting is right on.

On a final note, the french dudes put up one heck of a race. It was very well organized and the french athletes were tremendous out there today. Julien Loy's final run is outstanding considering the course (one tough one). All guys today are tremendous athletes and the competition was wild indeed. Great for the audience, great for the sport. I will be back for more, for sure. With a new seat!
