Zarautz in a few days

After missing Challenge France this weekend, my eyes are on Triatlon Zarautz on the 13th. It will be an half-ironman fulfilled of spanish studs and with a good prize money.

Yesterday I raced the Age Group nationals (sprint distance, a bit longer on the bike) and ended up winning mine. I guess I can still be a top age group after all! I felt a bit slow on the run and got beaten by few of my training buddies at the national training center. Damn kiddos. Fast ones too. After Challenge Barcelona I took one day off and two more of easy training before getting back to full speed. The swim and bike have been right there but I'm again in trouble on the run. For some reason I keep getting these minor injuries on the legs and can't really tell why. So I'm back on Voltaren. I should get sponsored by them! I had a 10Km road run today and was a LOT slower than last year. Didn't have any pain during the run (so I was just slow today period) but I guess that hitting the cookies hard after the sprint triathlon yesterday doesn't exactly work as a good post-race recovery meal. Stupid ass.

Well I will still race a sprint distance triathlon next wednesday to help my tri-club try and win another event of the Portuguese Cup. After that I will head to the Basque Country (always lovely sightseeings) on thursday for the half (fifth this year!). Lots of racing going on this month. Can't you tell I really enjoy racing?!
